My Thoughts:

The Giants completely revamped their defense this offseason with four veteran players added who should step into the starting lineup. They also added another two via the draft with an excellent shot at starting meaning six of their starting eleven on defense could be new faces. The Giants had one of the best offseasons in the NFL this season and only added a handful of players. But picking up potential star defensive end Olivier Vernon along with starting defensive tackle, 350-pound Damon Harrison, starting cornerback Janoris Jenkins and potenially their starting middle linebacker in Keenan Robinson is a terrific free agent haul. It wasn't all roses though as they lost talented pass rushing defensive end in Robert Ayers who was a specialist at getting after the quarterback as well as solid cornerback Prince Amukamara, good veteran offensive lineman Geoff Schwartz and good veteran receiver Rueben Randle who caught 8 touchdowns last year.

In the draft, several players were added that can contribute this year. Perhaps every single drafted player may find a role on this team. Eli Apple was the 10th overall pick and this athletic, talented kid should start at one cornerback position. There were others corners I liked more in his draft that went after him but he certainly can play. Sterling Shepard has all the tools to be an excellent NFL receiver and he will find an immediate role on the team. Darian Thompson is a player I like a lot and he will emerge as a starting safety. B.J. Goodson is a big, tough physical linebacker who can shut down the run but has limited speed and both running back Paul Perkins and tight end Jerell Adams have a chance to be in the rotation with good camps.

Overall the Giants lost some key players but more than made up for it with great free agent signings and a solid draft class. The team needed to improve the defense and adding a potential six new starters will help the defense to improve. Terrific off season in New York.
